Other Space Arts

Windsor is renowned for its rich history, royal heritage, and picturesque surroundings. Known for being home to Windsor Castle, the residence of the British royal family, the town draws visitors from around the world. In recent years, however, Windsor has also embraced sustainability, with a growing number of venues prioritising ethical, plant-based offerings and eco-conscious practices. One such example is Other Space Arts (OSA) in New Windsor, a newly established venue that seamlessly blends creativity, sustainability, and community.

Meet & greet Other Space Arts: Windsor’s new cultural hotspot

OSA, which opened on 1st March, is more than just an arts venue—it’s a hub for creatives, food lovers, and culture enthusiasts. With a plant-based café, bar, and live events space, the venue fosters community while promoting sustainable choices.

Its menu, developed with chef Chris Nelson, proves that delicious, wholesome food can be entirely plant-based and eco-friendly. OSA sources fresh ingredients from local suppliers and serves beers from Windsor & Eton, Indie Rabble, and Two Flints, as well as sustainable coffee from Marlow-based Coopers Roastery. Even their focaccia sandwiches, made with bread from local bakery Heidi’s, reflect a commitment to low-waste, ethical dining.

A platform for grassroots talent

Other Space Arts

OSA’s upstairs gallery and live events space, set to open in April, will provide a stage for emerging grassroots artists across genres like RnB, folk, electronic, and punk. Founders Matt Fleming and Eleanor Chownsmith, known for organising Windsor Fringe Festival and International Women’s Day events, aim to bring artistic diversity to Windsor, reducing the need to travel to London or Reading for such experiences.

The future of sustainable cultural spaces

Other Space Arts is a prime example of Windsor’s evolving cultural and sustainable scene, proving that community, creativity, and ethical choices can thrive together. As more venues embrace this approach, they help to establish Windsor as a forward-thinking hub for cultural innovation, sustainability, and artistic expression.

Other Space Arts represents Windsor’s vibrant future, combining creativity, sustainability, and community to set a new cultural standard.
